A SKIPTON based charity is asking walkers to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge so it can send more disadvantaged children and their families on much needed holidays.

The Principle Trust children’s charity is on the look out for both individuals and teams to climb the three peaks - Whernside, Ingleborough and Penyghent, a distance of 24 miles and a total climb of 5,200 ft - on Saturday, August 29.

Anyone with the required fitness levels is welcome to give the challenge a go for the charity, which is asking people to raise at least £200.

A charity spokesperson said: “The adventure is the perfect opportunity for team building and will also provide that sense of freedom that we have all missed. Take on a challenge, stretch your legs and raise money for a worthy cause.”

The charity supports underprivileged, disadvantaged, and disabled children through the provision of free holidays and respite breaks. Working closely alongside other charities and government services, it supports children who have life threatening illnesses, have a disability, struggle with mental health, live in poverty, have experienced abuse, and who have come from a life of crime.
