CRAVEN College student, Chloe Wroot, has been recognised for her hard work and dedication to learning at the national Pearson BTEC awards.
Chloe, from Sutton-in-Craven, was named a bronze winner in the business and enterprise student of the year category of the awards, which this year was held online because of the coronavirus pandemic.
She was nominated by her tutor, Jill Frik for being an exceptional learner and a role model.
“Chloe is re-sitting her English GCSE and is required to complete a formal presentation. She demonstrated extreme bravery in choosing to share her very personal experiences. As many young people struggle with mental health issues and feel they face difficult barriers to their health and well-being this talk was inspirational in putting things into context and making her peers feel empowered and more positive about dealing with their own issues,” said Ms Frik.
Chloe, who is studying business and wants to be an accountant said: “I am passionate about the subject because it opens up many pathways into various career opportunities which should help me tremendously. This BTEC course will help me achieve my career ambitions because I organised a work experience placement with Acorn Stairlifts which helped me to receive the basic knowledge within a finance department and then they offered me a job.”
