Bus passengers in Stanbury, near Keighley, are benefiting from a new, solar-powered bus shelter.
Located in Main Street in Stanbury, the new shelter was paid for by the West Yorkshire Rural Transport Partnership, which is administered by Metro on behalf of Yorkshire Forward.
"Metro is keen to use innovative ways of making travel easier for passengers," said Councillor Chris Greaves, the Bradford spokesman of the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Authority.
"Being solar powered, this modern shelter is environmentally friendly and proved economic to install at this location where there is no easily-available power supply."
Andy Tordoff, Yorkshire Forward's head of rural renaissance and tourism, said: "Stanbury's new shelter is an example of how a small-scale project can bring significant benefits.
"The West Yorkshire Rural Transport Partnership is just one example of the many projects across the region that invests in the needs of local communities with support from Yorkshire Forward."
Peter Hill, chairman of Haworth, Cross Roads & Stanbury Parish Council, said: "We have campaigned for this bus shelter because for Stanbury residents without a motor vehicle, this bus service is their only link to access the shops, post office, medical centre and other facilities that people living in town take for granted."
