Here is another batch of photographs of Bradford during the Sixties.
It was the time of great upheaval when the face of Bradford’s city centre changed beyond recognition. Grimy old buildings replaced by modern architecture.
Not everybody was impressed. The loss of the Swan Arcade, for one, angered J B Priestley, although he had hardly enjoyed his working life there as a shipping clerk.
But one building had gained some approval, the new Central Library theatre, which when completed would provide performers with that much needed wing space.
