THE PUBLIC are being asked to take their rubbish home with them after an increase in the amount of waste being left in Bradford's parks.
Although parks are open, play areas (pictured) are still closed because of the pandemic.
A spokesperson for Bradford Council said: “Apart from children’s play equipment, multi-use games areas, and outdoor gyms, Bradford’s parks have remained open during the lockdown because they provide opportunities for exercise, and green space contributes to people’s well-being.
“There has been an increase in the amount of rubbish collected from parks during the period especially when the sun has been shining as people have not been travelling far from their homes to enjoy the weather.
“To support our maintenance staff we would ask park users to take their litter home and dispose of it there.”
