A MAN hurled vile insults at two police officers who were assisting in his arrest.
Mazhar Hussain, 39, of Daisy Hill Lane, appeared via video link at Bradford Crown Court yesterday to be sentenced over racially-aggravated public order offences on October 26 last year.
The two officers attended to arrest Hussain and as he was led to the custody van, he initially called them mother******* and was muttering white b****** to both of them. The court heard he did not have a history of this type of behaviour, felt he was being wrongly arrested and was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Sentencing him to ten weeks imprisonment for each count, to run concurrently and taking into account credit for guilty pleas, he said Hussain had caused the officers “significant distress”.
