Keighley MP Robbie Moore raised the issue of drugs in the town during Prime Minister’s Questions.

He asked for an update on the Conservative Party’s manifesto pledge to provide an additional 20,000 police officers – and for an assurance that West Yorkshire would get the extra resources needed.

Mr Moore said: “The people of Keighley and I are sick of gangs openly selling drugs on the town’s streets, but also grooming young innocent children to do their dirty work. Can the Prime Minister update me as to what progress is being made to deliver on our manifesto commitment to ensure West Yorkshire Police have the resources and personnel they need?”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Government was committed to stopping the ‘evil’ of dealing – including its impact on young people – and reasserted the recruitment pledge.
