A 22-YEAR-OLD has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Bradley Stewart Gledhill.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police executed a warrant at an address on Church Road, in Batley, just after 6am this morning.

It was in relation to the murder of 20-year-old Bradley Stewart Gledhill, who died after being stabbed on Sunday, June 21.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

Search enquiries are being conducted at the scene and investigations are currently live and ongoing.

Mr Gledhill, who lived in Heckmondwike, was fatally stabbed on Park Croft, in Batley, after a fight broke-out.

West Yorkshire Police was called to the street at about 10.28pm to reports of an altercation involving a group of people.

A number of people fled the scene.

Two other males, allegedly involved in the fighting, also suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police launched a murder investigation following the death of Mr Gledhill.

There have been eight arrests in total, so far, as part of the investigation (including today's update).

Usman Karolia, 19, of Lime Tree Avenue in Batley, was arrested on suspicion of murder on the morning of Monday, June 22.

He appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 25, charged with the murder of Bradley Stewart Gledhill and the attempted murder of two other men in Batley.

He was set to appear before Leeds Crown Court today (Friday, June 26).

Ahmed Karolia, 23, of Lime Tree Avenue in Batley, and Raja Nawaz, 18, of Longfield Road in Heckmondwike, were both arrested on the morning of Tuesday, June 23.

They were detained on suspicion of murder and it came after police executed warrants.

They appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 25, charged with the murder of Bradley Stewart Gledhill and the attempted murder of two other men in Batley, alongside Usman Karolia.

They are set to appear before Leeds Crown Court today (Friday, June 26).

An 18-year-old male from Batley was arrested on Tuesday, June 23, as part of the warrant executed to detain Ahmed Karolia and Raja Nawaz.

The 18-year-old was detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and has since been released on police bail.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder on Thursday, June 25.

He is currently in police custody for questioning.

Two people who were arrested across the last week have since been released with no further action taken, due to police no longer considering them as suspects.

This includes a 31-year-old man from Heckmondwike, who was arrested on suspicion of affray on Monday, June 22.

He was eliminated from the ongoing investigation on Tuesday, June 22.

A 14-year-old male arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder on Thursday, June 25, was also eliminated from the ongoing investigation.

That was on the same day he was arrested.
