ODEON Cinema in Thornbury will reopen next month and you can book tickets now, the chain has announced.

The firm’s Leeds-Bradford site at Gallagher Leisure Park (pictured) will reopen to film fans on Monday, July 13.

Stephen Hagon, Leeds-Bradford Odeon Luxe manager, said on its website: “We are delighted to announce this Odeon will reopen its doors from July 13, and you can book tickets now.

“We have made lots of changes to create a new safer cinema experience for you, and we look forward to welcoming you back.”

The new ODEON safer cinema experience has been carefully designed to meet Government guidelines and to give ODEON guests and colleagues confidence & reassurance

Tickets on sale from today for big screen classics including 1917 and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, re-released in 4k for its 40th anniversary, to give guests much needed escape and big screen immersion, just in time for the summer holidays

ODEON Trafford Centre, ODEON Luxe Birmingham Broadway Plaza, and ODEON Luxe Epsom are among the first ODEON cinemas to welcome guests back to big screen entertainment, alongside the return of cinema classics, Coke, Popcorn and Nachos served with ODEON’s famous cheese sauce, and partner Costa Coffee stores open for takeaway coffee and cake

Here are the safety measures will be in place in Odeon cinemas for customer’s safety:

- Limited number of seats for sale for each film and guaranteeing unoccupied seats between parties to meet social distancing requirements.

- Staggering the show start times to reduce queues and operating safe queuing measures with floor markings and cinema host support.

- Customers are recommended to book online for a contactless experience with all ticket checks conducted visually only.

- A range of pre-packaged food and drinks, with contactless till payments, will be available

- Odeon will no longer be accepting cash, but have increased contactless limit to help people buy safer.

- Odeon will have more frequent and more thorough cleaning routines throughout the cinema, with extra controls in all toilet facilities.

- Stations offering sanitising gels and wipes will be available at allocated points.

- Employees will be equipped with personal protective equipment - including face coverings and gloves.

Here are a few tips from Odeon for anyone visiting its cinemas:

1. When you arrive at the cinema, please observe social distancing at all times and avoid waiting around in public areas unless in a queue

2. Please wash your hands when appropriate and use our sanitising stations with our compliments

3. Please be at your auditorium in good time for your scheduled start time and have your tickets ready for visual inspection

4. We have strict guidelines for any of our colleagues who may begin to show early symptoms to stay away from the cinema. We would welcome all of our guests to do the same and stay home if they feel unwell.

5. Please follow government guidelines which regard to wearing face coverings.
