Extra police officers will be patrolling the streets of Bradford city centre looking out for anti-social behaviour over the Christmas period.
Binge drinkers are the focus of the Know Your Limits campaign launched by West Yorkshire Police yesterday.
The operation, which is in its third year, kicks in on Friday and Saturday nights with the aim of reducing disorder and violent crime.
Officers will be looking to intervene in situations which have the potential to escalate and will be offering advice to revellers in the streets about crime prevention techniques such as how to avoid drinks being spiked.
West Yorkshire Assistant Chief Constable David Crompton said: "Booze is cheap and some people simply don't know when to stop. Our message is for people to know their limits, act responsibly and avoid becoming a victim or getting arrested."
