Seizures of skunk cannabis in Bradford over the last two weeks have been hailed "the most significant ever" as police uncovered two more cannabis factories.

Bradford District Drugs Team seized £1.2 million worth of skunk cannabis after raiding seven addresses in a week.

In the latest finds, a 38-year-old man was arrested when more than 200 cannabis plants were seized at a house in Knowle Park, Keighley, yesterday. Further plants, with an estimated street value of £250,000, were seized at a house in Queensbury this morning.

Detective Inspector Neil Benstead, of the Bradford District Drugs Team, said: "Locally this is definitely our most significant seizure in relation to skunk cannabis ever. Whilst the team have made many arrests in relation to cannabis production, it doesn't mean we are not still looking for those involved, and I anticipate further arrests in the coming days."

Chief Superintendent Allan Doherty, head of the Crackdown In Bradford, A Community Against Drugs initiative, said: "In my job I have been to a number of drug-related deaths and have seen first-hand the impact of drugs."
