A call to support the reopening of the Skipton to Colne railway line has been rejected by Glusburn councillors.
Pressure group, the Skipton East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership (SELRAP), is campaigning for the reopening of the 12-mile stretch of line.
It has recently been encouraged by a Northern Rail review that stated that there could be a business case to reopen the line.
But a request for support to Glusburn Parish Council was turned down at last week's parish council meeting because councillors felt money should be spent on the upgrade of roads in South Craven instead.
