THIS year's Bradford 10k is going virtual following concerns about social distancing.

The event raises thousands for Epilepsy Action each year as runners start in Centenary Square, looping round and running down the length of Canal Road as far as Shipley, then back.

Instead organisers hope that runners will plan their own 10k route close to home, time themselves online and submit their result online by the closing date.

If you were signed up to run in September, you have from now until race day to take part.

Everyone who submits a time will be sent a fully branded Bradford 10k 2020 finisher's t-shirt and medal in the post.

There'll also be an official results table with prizes available in the usual categories.

A Bradford 10k spokesperson said: "Social distancing measures mean that gathering everyone together in Bradford city centre simply isn't safe or feasible. But we really wanted to find a way for everyone to still take part.

"As our thank you and commitment to our 2020 runners, all entrants will be offered priority entry and a 50% discount for the next Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k."

Runners must submit their time online by Sunday, September 6.
