THOUSANDS of social media users across the UK are experiencing severe network issues on Facebook Messenger.
Issues were first identified on Monday evening at around 9.30pm, according to website Down Detector.
At 9.44pm, more than 12,000 people had reported problems.
Many users have been faced with a blank screen in the place of their messages, and are experiencing trouble with sending and receiving.
Above, the outage map on DownDetector shows a worldwide issue.
There has not yet been any official confirmation that the app is experiencing trouble, and it is not yet known if it is affecting linked apps including WhatsApp.
