A BIKER who had falled down a steep hill was rescued after an operation which lasted almost six hours.

The Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) rushed to Judy Woods, in Wyke, at around 11.13am on Monday, after a request for assistance from the Yorkshire Ambulance Serice (YAS).

A male had fallen off his bike and down a steep hill.

There were 22 members of the CVSRT who went to the woods and they were first on the scene.

The team provided initial medical care.

The casualty was then packaged, transferred onto a wheeled stretcher and carried to the awaiting ambulance.

Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) also attended.

The whole operation lasted five hours and 47 minutes in total.
