KEIGHLEY MP Robbie Moore has called on the Government to continue standing-up for Hong Kong citizens.

He told the Commons that Britain had “long and historic” ties with Hong Kong, where there are growing concerns for British nationals overseas (BNO) as China looks to introduce new security laws.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said the Government was planning to create a ‘pathway to citizenship’ for BNO passport holders. Mr Moore said: “I have been contacted by a number of constituents concerned about the safety and security of Hong Kong residents and also China’s bullish nature in having complete disregard for the one country, two systems approach. I am glad to receive further commitments from the Government about how it will protect their rights if the Chinese government passes its proposed national security bill.”
