Victims reminded that domestic abuse services are available to help

During the coronavirus Pandemic there has been an increase in the reporting of Domestic Abuse.

Sometimes things can happen out-of-hours when services are not available, and then people don’t always know who to contact.

If you can feel yourself starting to become angry, don’t know what to do or how to stop it, ring Bradford Maze in confidence during the day 9am-5pm on 07949 595227.

In addition the service are now offering Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings 5–9pm and Saturday afternoons 3-7pm.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for Healthy People and Places, said: “It is vital that people feel they are not alone, they don’t suffer in silence and feel able to access support at a time when people feel are restricted in where they can go.

“Although critically our services remain open for the victims of abuse, it is important to recognise that helping perpetrators of domestic abuse will reduce the number of incidents, help them change their ways and protect those who are risk.

“We commend the vital work Bradford maze are doing in helping keep people safe in these difficult times.”
