TWO more patients who tested positive for coronavirus have died in the Bradford district.

The deaths occurred at Bradford Royal Infirmary on May 29 and May 30 and bring the total for the district to 307 - 200 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, 105 at Airedale Hospital and two at Bradford District Care Trust.

The numbers of people dying at hospitals in England has dropped below 100 for the first time for many weeks.

A statement from NHS England said: "A further 85 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,614.

"Patients were aged between 56 and 100 years old. Six of the 85 patients (aged between 56 and 82) had no known underlying health condition.

"Their families have been informed."

Of the deaths reported since yesterday, the North East and Yorkshire had the highest number of incidents, at 25.
