A HOMELESS woman's complaint about the support provided to her by Bradford Council will not be investigated by the Local Government Ombudsman.

In the latest list of decisions, the Ombudsman service revealed they had been asked to investigate a complaint made about the Council by a homeless woman, referred to as Miss X.

She claimed Bradford Council had failed to provide her with proper support since she became homeless.

She said she has had to pay for her own stay in bed and breakfast accommodation.

The Local Government Ombudsman investigated complaints made by members of the public about the conduct of local Councils.

A report published this week by the Ombudsman service as part of their regular round up of Council complaints says Miss X had said she did not want the ombudsman investigating the case to speak to anyone without her first giving consent.

It adds: "She continues to have concerns about who we might contact as part of our investigation.

"Whilst I understand Miss X’s concerns, I cannot give her the assurances she seeks. Therefore, I intend to discontinue my investigation into her complaint."

The investigation was discontinued in February.
