A SALTAIRE-BASED healthtech business has forecast record growth after shifting to remote patient care in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Advanced Digital Innovation (UK) Limited (ADI), which offers technology-enabled health and care services, is forecasting record growth for its MyPathway health platform this year after securing six major contract wins in the last few months.

ADI, which offers the MyPathway software platform for remote specialist healthcare, has secured new contracts with NHS Leeds CCG, NHS Sheffield CCG, Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience/University of Sheffield, North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Trinity College Dublin for Ireland’s Health Service Executive, adding to its existing customer relationships.

33,000 new patients have signed up to MyPathway in recent months, taking total patient users to nearly 60,000.

In August 2019, ADI secured £650,000 funding from Mercia Equity Finance, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, to boost uptake of MyPathway, and is now looking to fund its next growth phase.

The business is now seeking new investment to fund its growth opportunity, forecast at more than 130 percent, as NHS Trusts drive a rapid shift to online care for patients prevented from visiting hospitals due to the pandemic.

John Eaglesham, chief executive at ADI, said: “After a record year, our business is now seeing its biggest ever growth opportunity. COVID-19 has created, almost overnight, a transformational change in the NHS towards embracing new ways of communicating and caring for patients.

"Whilst this has been accelerated by the pandemic, it heralds a long term and long overdue shift in how the NHS interacts with patients, catching up to the online communications used in other sectors.

“Where making fundamental changes in the NHS might have been a challenge six months ago, we are now pushing on open doors as the NHS looks for new ways to provide care and manage the backlog of patients whose appointments were cancelled due to the outbreak.

"We are embarking on this second funding round in order to address this substantial opportunity and continue to pioneer new ways of caring for vulnerable patients by increasing both the number of customers we work with and the number of clinical pathways we address.”

ADI Ltd was formed in 2012 by serial Yorkshire entrepreneur, Bob Gomersall, to solve innovation challenges within the NHS and the defence industry. Now entirely focused on providing telehealth solutions for patients’ complex care needs, the business works with NHS Trusts around the UK and overseas.

MyPathway, removes the need for appointment calls and letters, and enables patients to access online advice on how to manage their condition, attend virtual appointments with their consultant and book face-to-face appointments where they are needed. It reduces the need for hospital visits by as much as 80 percent.
