YORKSHIRE Water has shared a top tip for keeping you paddling pool free of nasty critters and also to save water.

Temperatures have soared yet again today, on Bank Holiday Monday.

With the coronavirus lockdown still in place, many people will be taking advantage of the hot weather by cooling down in a paddling pool - kids and adults alike.

Yorkshire Water posted on social media website, Twitter, to explain that using a fitted bedsheet is the perfect way to protect your paddling pool.

Once you're done with splashing around for the day, or even if you're just taking a break from it, simply spread the sheet over the paddling pool.

This way no bugs or leaves will be able to get into it.

It is also a good tip for saving water - instead of pouring it out at the end of the day, you can pop the sheet over the paddling pool again and then reuse the same water the next day.

Yorkshire Water said: "Having some fun in the sun this Bank Holiday?

"Once your little ones have finished playing in the paddling pool why not pop a fitted sheet over the top of it to keep it clean and the bugs away?

"This tip can also help save water as you don't need to refill the pool again."
