PROPOSALS to turn a former Citizens’ Advice Bureau into flats have been approved by planning officers.

The Shipley bureau, on Windsor Road, shut in February, with advice sessions moved to the nearby Kirkgate Centre.

A planning application to convert the office building into three apartments, submitted by David Wilson of Millennium Hair Studio, has just been approved by Bradford Council.

Each flat will be two storey, and the building divided into one one-bed flat and two, two-bed flats.

£1 million plans to refurbish Shipley building are approved

Referring to the fact that there is no off street parking allocated to the flats, officers said: “On street parking to the front of the site is restricted and the surrounding residential streets operate a permit parking system. However, there is payable parking available within the courtyard to the rear of the building and the site is located within a sustainable town centre location with public transport links. In this instance, the lack of parking is considered acceptable."
