THE VOLUNTEERING Interfaith Programme (VIP) has delivered food packs to students at the University of Bradford's halls of residence, in the wake of lockdown.

They were distributed by England's Bradford-born World Cup-winning cricketer, Adil Rashid, the university's pro-vice chancellor, Professor Zahir Irani, VIP founder, Javed Bashir and other VIP team members

One international student who received support said: "I wasn't made to feel like a burden, due to the kindness of the team. I am so grateful for this help, at a time when so many of us are powerless in our situations.”

Javed Bashir, founder of VIP, said: “We are pleased to help students facing financial hardship or isolation at the university, and we will continue to support in the coming weeks”.
