ONE further hospital patient has died from Covid-19 in a Bradford hospital, bringing the district's death toll from the virus to 271.

The death - which took place on Wednesday, May 13 - was recorded at Airedale Hospital Trust

There were no deaths reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals or Bradford district care trust.

It means 176 people have died with covid-19 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 93 have died with covid-19 at Airedale and two have died with covid-19 at the care trust.

This patient is among 23 people in the North East & Yorkshire reported to have lost their lives from the virus in the most recent data from NHS England.

A further 186 people, who tested positive for the covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,345.

Patients were aged between 15 and 99 years old. 

10 of the 186 patients (aged between 30 and 94 years old) had no known underlying health condition.  

Their families have been informed.

Bradford Council has also published up-to-date information about how the coronavirus has affected the district across all settings.

This includes care homes, hospices, hospitals and those at home.

There have been 1,128 confirmed cases and 415 deaths relating to COVID-19 in Bradford District.

A total of 371 people have been discharged by doctors and nurses from Bradford Teaching Hospitals after being successfully treated for COVID-19.

While 190 have so far returned home from Airedale NHS Foundation Trust after recovering from the virus.
