THE Wibsey branch of Santander - the last remaining bank in the Bradford South area - is now open from 10am until 2pm on Tuesdays.

The branch has been temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A Santander spokesperson said: “In order to protect our staff and to help with the national effort to slow the spread of the virus, a number of our more vulnerable branch colleagues are currently being advised to stay at home and others are self-isolating.

"As a result, our Wibsey branch was temporarily closed and it is now open from 10am to 2pm on Tuesdays.

“Branches that are open are primarily there to support our customers with essential services and those who are unable to use ATMs to access cash. We would strongly urge other customers to use mobile or online banking wherever possible to allow those most in need to have access to our branch network. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused during this difficult time.

“We are working hard to increase the branches opening hours as soon as we possibly can.

"If customers or those unable to use an ATM require counter services while the branch is temporarily closed, they can visit their nearest alternative branch or local post office.

“Our focus is on the well-being of our customers, employees and supporting the wider community, and we are extremely proud of all of our colleagues who are continuing to support customers during this difficult time.”
