BRADFORD Council ordered the demolition of a long vacant pub because it had become dangerously unsafe.
The New Inn on Manchester Road was torn down on Monday, and today the Council revealed the reason for the works.
Although Bradford Trident has plans to develop the site - an application to flatten the pub and build industrial units on the site was submitted last year, these have not yet been approved.
Normally planning permission is required before a pub is demolished.
The New Inn has been empty for over a decade.

A Council spokesperson, said: “Usually it is a necessary for the owner to apply for permission from the council before demolishing a public house building under planning rules.
“However, in this case the council became aware that this building was unsafe and it was a public safety issue.
“The owners of the building were therefore required to make the site safe without delay.”
