A FORMER pub unit in Shipley town centre could re-open as a bar after 18 years.

The Cricketers’ Arms used to be based in a ground floor unit on Kirkgate - in the same building as the town’s Indoor Market and its iconic clock tower.

The bar shut in 2002 and the unit has had several uses since then, including a charity base and a mobility store.

Now an application has been submitted to Bradford Council for a licence that would allow the building to re-open as a bar.

The application says the business will be called How’s That and the licence calls for permission to sell alcohol and host live and recorded music.

The licence would allow this from 9am to 11pm on Sunday to Thursday and 9am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
