POLICE seized roughly £500,000 from a car on a motorway.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police were working as part of an operation last Thursday, May 7.
They stopped a vehicle on the M6, in Cumbria.
Inside the vehicle was £500,000 worth of cash.
Officers arrested a 39-year-old man, from the Halifax area, on suspicion of money laundering and concealing criminal property.
But he was released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Ramona Senior, head of West Yorkshire Police’s Economic Crime Unit, said: “This arrest was intelligence led and part of the Force’s Programme Precision which looks to tackle serious and organised crime.
“I would like to thank our colleagues in Cumbria Police for their assistance with this matter.”
