AN eyesore building on one of Bradford's busiest roads has today been demolished.
The New Inn on Manchester Road has been derelict for well over a decade, and has become increasingly decrepit in that time.
But now all that is left of the building is a pile or rubble after a demolition crew flattened the site today.
The building, a short distance from the Manchester Road Lidl and on a key route into the city centre, has long been considered one of Bradford's biggest eyesores.

There have been numerous plans the demolish the building over the years, although they have all, so far, failed to materialise.
Last year plans by Dharmesh Patel to demolish the building and replace it with a development of one bed flats were refused, three years after being submitted, due to the small size of some of the planned apartments.

Planning officers said the flats, some of which would be just 30 square metres, would provide “inadequate living space” for future residents.
Last year another application for the site, to flatten the pub and build industrial units on the land and a neighbouring site, was submitted by Bradford trident.

Despite that plan having been submitted 16 months ago, a decision on that application is yet to be made by Bradford Council.
Bradford Council has been contacted for a statement on the demolition.
