BRADFORD Literature Festival is hosting a transatlantic poetry event on Saturday to raise money for charity.

Poets from across the UK and US will join forces from 6pm to 8pm for the event.

Hosted by New York poet Carlos Andres Gomez, the live event will also feature UK poets Nadine Aisha Jassat, Safiya Kamaria Kinshasa, Joelle Taylor, Nikita Gill and Ian McMillan alongside US poet Mahogany L. Browne.

Bradford Literature Festival, which has attracted names from Luke Goss to Kate Bush, will not go ahead in July

A spokesman for the festival said: “This inspiring night of verse will celebrate the ties that bind us, as we raise much needed funds for Bradford Hospitals Charity in the UK and Food Bank for New York City in the US. Join us on Instagram Live @BradfordLitFest from 6pm.”

The Summer festival has been cancelled this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but many events are still being held online and via social media.
