A MAN is due to appear in court tomorrow, charged with the murder of Saleem Butt.
Craig Anthony Stanton, aged 42, of Southgate, Huddersfield, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court, charged with the murder of 61-year-old Mr Butt.
A 37-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail, and a 59-year-old man remains on bail for the same offence.
Mr Butt was tied up and killed in a sustained attack in his own home, and was found dead by police officers at his address in Hyrstlands Road, Batley, at around 9pm on April 23.
Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Tony Nicholson, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "Saleem is a man who lived on his own - a quiet, honest, trustworthy man. A man who has done nothing at all to elicit this sort of horrific death."
