TWO Cottingley cousins have agreed to shave their heads to raise money for a local hospice.

Billy and Jack McLafferty, who are aged 11 and nine, respectively, say they are going to "brave the shave", in order to raise funds for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice in Keighley.

It comes after an emergency appeal from Manorlands, which says that coronavirus is having a "devastating impact" on the hospice.

Billy and Jack, who both go to Cottingley Village Primary School and play football for Eldwick Juniors, are apprehensive about the shave, but believe the money raised will make it worthwhile.

Billy said: "I am nervous about having my head shaved, but it's for a brilliant cause - every penny we raise is worth getting a cold head for!"

Jack said: "I know about Manorlands, as our grandad, Neil, is currently having treatment for cancer. We thought it would be good to raise some money for them, and I hope we can get lots of sponsors, to make up for having our heads shaved!"
