SOCIAL enterprise Community Shop has rapidly scaled up its operations in Bradford to deliver thousands of food and care packages to families in need of immediate food access and support, as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Community Shop, which traditionally provides individuals and families receiving welfare support with access to heavily discounted food and household items, has sent thousands of food packages worth up to £50 each to those identified by local councils as shielding or being out of paid employment.
Baby food manufacturer, Ella’s Kitchen, is providing essential packages targeted at children and families with infants, including 50,000 baby food pouches for inclusion in dedicated ‘baby boxes’ with other age appropriate items.
