OTLEY’S bypass is ablaze with springtime colour thanks to the efforts of local Rotarians.
Members of the Rotary Club of Otley Chevin planted lots of bulbs on the verges of Rotary Way last autumn to ensure there would be an impressive floral display this year.
They were supported, as in previous years, by Otley in Bloom which donated the bulbs.
The planting has resulted in an eye-catching display of daffodils and crocuses that have been impressing residents and passing motorists alike.
The bypass, a busy stretch of the A660, was renamed Rotary Way in 2013 in recognition of the significant contribution the town’s Rotarians make to the community - not least by keeping this part of Otley looking clean and attractive.
Local Rotary club members also team up with Town Councillors and Otley in Bloom to hold regular litter picks along the roadside, often collecting large quantities of rubbish.
