OUTDOOR events are off but that hasn't stopped Harden Cricket Club raising money for Manorlands.
The club usually holds a fun day in August in aid of the hospice but like many summer events that is under threat due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Members instead set out to raise £1,000 for Manorlands by having their heads shaved.
Club secretary and 2nd team captain Richard Falkingham said: "When we heard the news that all charities were struggling we all decided to raise money for our local hospice.
"As of this morning we sit at £961. However we won't stop at £1,000, we'll keep going and see how much we'll get.
"Some of our members have lost loved ones to cancer, and without Manorlands being there for them they would have struggled more in the sad times. You hear what fantastic stuff Manorlands do for people, and we wanted to help where we could."
Having their heads shaved are Richard Falkingham, Martin Falkingham, Andy Wear, Mark Portlock, Matthew Topham, Steve Gardner, Adam Smith, David Smith and Paul Rhodes.
