THE annual Bradford Fringe Festival, which usually takes place in venues across Bradford City Centre over summer, will not be taking place this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Instead organisers will be streaming pre-recorded and live theatre, comedy and music performances online between July and early August, using platforms such as Zoom, Facebook Live and Insta-TV.

A statement from organisers said: "Theatres, Bars and Clubs may be closed but that does not stop the need for culture, entertainment and generally having a laugh! If anything we need it now more than ever.

"We are also exploring ways in which we can provide access to arts and entertainment to those who don't have access to the internet.

"We'd love to hear from groups and organisations who work with vulnerable people on how best we can achieve this whilst maintaining social distancing measures."

A full line up will be announced in the coming weeks, and people can help shape what the festival will look like by completing an online survey at surveymonkey.com/r/G3VJN7V.

Organisers added: "We are already developing Bradford Fringe Festival 2021 and planning to be back in everyone's favourite theatres, bars and venues across Bradford City Centre in 2021."
