A SPECIALIST wedding catering firm has launched a new food service to help people practice Ramadan during the coronavirus crisis.
Pakistan Catering - which is based in Beckside Road, Bradford - has set-up "Iftari Khana" to give people the chance to break their fast with a banquet from the comfort of their own home.
One of the main focuses of the holy month of Ramadan is fasting between sunrise and sunset.
Many households and families normally break their fast together, or at a restaurant.
But, with the country still in the thick of the COVID-19 crisis and lockdown, Ramadan is set to be very different this year.
Pakistan Catering itself is usually preparing at this time of year to provide food for large "Iftari" (Iftar is the evening meal after each daily fast) celebrations across the UK.
Instead the business is offering people the chance to replicate that feeling of community and togetherness at home, by providing a collection service.
Customers will be able to order a three-course banquet box for five people, at a cost of £44.99, with the option of adding more boxes, if there are more than five people.
The meals will then be available for collection 24 hours later, at Pakistan Catering on Beckside Road.
The service will be running seven days a week throughout Ramadan, with the menu changing every week.
The new website states: "We are determined to make this Ramadan a memorable one by offering Iftari Khana by Pakistan Catering available for you and your family to enjoy at home."
