DISNEY’S The Lion King, which was due at Bradford's Alhambra theatre this month, has been rescheduled to 2022.

A statement from Bradford Theatres said: "Due to recent government advice on COVID-19 and to protect the health and wellbeing of our audiences, cast and crew, it is with sadness that we have taken the decision to reschedule the Bradford season of The Lion King which was due to run at the Alhambra Theatre from April 30 to June 20.

"However, we are pleased to announce that we have been able to secure alternative dates for the engagement and The Lion King will now come to Bradford from March 24 to May 28, 2022."

The hit show was due At the Alhambra for a seven-week run - the only Yorkshire date on its venue. A total of 74,000 people were due to watch the show.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bradford Theatres has closed its venues; the Alhambra, St George's Hall, the Studio and King's Hall in Ilkley.
