IT's thought a faulty electric blanket caused an early-hours house fire in Wyke.
Firefighters from Odsal, Cleckheaton and Wyke were called to Crown Street just before 2am, where there had been a small fire in the bedroom.
The occupant, a man in his 40s, managed to put the fire out before crews arrived and got to a place of safety.
He suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital for a check.
The fire service has urged people to ensure electric blankets are in good working order.
