THE latest figures for Bradford show four more people have sadly died as a result of coronavirus, bringing the total of number of deaths in the district to 33.
Public Health England revealed three of the deaths were at Airedale Hospital while one death was recorded at Bradford Royal Infirmary (BRI).
NHS England reported that there were 18 deaths at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, although the trust itself reported, on its website, that there were 21 deaths.
Both NHS England and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were contacted for clarification on the discrepancy, although both were not sure why there was a difference.
A spokesperson at Bradford Royal Infirmary insisted that, “Our figures are correct”, while a spokesperson for NHS England’s North East and Yorkshire branch said they were unsure as to why the figures were different.
As of April 6 at the BRI, there are currently 72 confirmed COVID-19 inpatients and 8 confirmed COVID-19 cases in ICU.
The exact number of confirmed cases at Airedale Hospital is unknown at this moment in time.
The data also shows that out of 861 tests at the BRI, just 161 people tested positive.
