FIRE SERVICES were called out to reports of a submerged car in Saltaire's stretch of the Leeds-Liverpool canal this morning.
Crews from Shipley, Bingley, Bradford and Leeds arrived at the scene only to find the vehicle had in fact been there for more than four years.
The car was pulled under the water back in the 2015 floods, when water levels along the River Aire rose by 2.84m on Boxing Day.
Firefighters are treating the incident as a false alarm.
West Yorkshire Police said it has logged the recovery of the abandoned car.
