FOUR fire crews rushed to the scene of a huge scrapyard blaze where 20 cars were on fire.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to reports of a fire at a scrapyard, off Calder Road in Ravensthorpe, at around 8.52pm last night.
Two fire engines from Dewsbury and one from each of Mirfield and Cleckheaton raced to the blaze.
Crews discovered that 20 cars at the scrapyard were alight, when they arrived.
Three large jets were used to extinguish the fire, as well as a ground monitor.
Local residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed due to a large amount of smoke.
