BRADFORD Council is working with partners, including the Government, on delivering a range of support measures to help businesses during the pandemic.
The Government has announced various different schemes with different timeframes, paid out via local authorities, as well as Government departments.
Bradford Council has written to businesses who it felt may be eligible for the Small Business Grant and reliefs for 2020/21, asking them to contact its Business Rates Team.
It will be applying the relevant Business Rate Reliefs, Business Rates Holidays, the £25,000 Cash Grant for Retail Hospitality and Leisure. There will also be further Small Business Grants awarded to eligible business.
The Government has also announced various other grants and funding that is available to businesses. These are:
- Business Loan Interruption Scheme offered through the banks but not available from councils
• Job Retention Scheme offered through HMRC but not available from councils
• Self-employment Income Support Scheme offered through HMRC but not available from the council
Businesses can contact Bradford Council’s Business Support Team – 01274 437727 for advice on these wider support measures and information can also be found on the Council’s website: https://www.bradford.gov.uk/business/help-for-businesses/coronavirus-covid-19-support-for-business/
