FOUR more coronavirus deaths have been reported by the NHS in the Bradford district - two each at the Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

The deaths take the total in the district in the Covid-19 epidemic to 27, 16 at BRI and 11 at Airedale Hospital.

The Department of Health has reported that as of 5pm on 2 April, of those hospitalised in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus, 3,605 have sadly died.

This is a rise 684 on the previous day, a record daily total.

A further 604 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died in England, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 3,302.

Patients were aged between 24 and 100 years old.

Thirty-four of the 604 patients (aged between 27 and 92 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by NHS England region are as follows: East of England 66, London 161, Midlands 150, North East & Yorkshire 62, North West 88, South East 41, South West 36, Total 604.

As of 9am 3 April, a total of 173,784 people have been tested of which 38,168 tested positive.

11,764 tests were carried out yesterday in England. Testing capacity for inpatient care in England currently stands at 12,799 tests per day.
