NORTH Wales Police continue to do all they can to maintain their levels of policing in communities.

Inspector Stephen Roberts, of the South Flintshire policing team has confirmed all staff in Flintshire South at this time are fit and well ‘with no-one needing to self isolate themselves or with symptoms of Covid-19’.

As the UK lockdown continues, he assured members of the public that they are doing all they can to enforce the new rules.

He told the Leader: “I would like to pass on my thanks the vast majority of people who are complying with the me Government rules on social distancing. It really good to see how people have appreciated the dangers of this virus continuing to spread, they really are saving lives by staying at home.

“I have asked my staff to be proactive with their approach to policing the new rules, specifically to; Engage with people, explain the rules to them and encourage them to comply. We have not issued any penalty notices for breaching the rules in Flintshire South.”

One female was dealt with last week in relation to multiple thefts from retail premises on the Broughton shopping area.

Officers also stopped a vehicle earlier in the week travelling between Mold and Wrexham. He said the stop resulted in a male being arrested for possession of drugs with intent to supply and the investigation continues.

Inspector Roberts added: “It is all still very busy from a management aspect as we prepare for a number of possible scenarios as we move forwards and I would like to reassure the public that we are doing all that we can to maintain our levels of policing to our communities.”
