A BRADFORD man has been jailed for eight and a half years for raping and sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Adam Wager, 27, of Colyton Mount, Allerton, pleaded guilty to a total of nine charges, including two counts of oral rape, each reflecting three separate occasions.

He also admitted sexual assault, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, sexual activity with a child and three offences of making indecent photos of children, some at Category A, the worst level of seriousness.

Wager pleaded guilty to all nine charges against him at Bradford Crown Court on February 18 and was remanded in custody for the preparation of probation and medical reports.

Prosecutor Ian Howard said yesterday that the police searched Wager’s home on October 31 last year after receiving information that an IP address linked to it was being used to access indecent photographs of children.

Wager admitted that he was accessing the material and he was arrested and interviewed.

He told officers he had been downloading the images for a few years, stating that he sought out pictures of boys and girls from the age of ten.

Wager then disclosed that his camera contained indecent images of a boy he had touched sexually.

He said the abuse took place several years earlier and then declined to make any further comment.

The boy told the police Wager had manipulated him and made him feel small.

Mr Howard said the youngster became very distressed and blamed himself. He recalled a video recording being made of the abuse.

Wager then told the police the boy was at first reluctant to perform oral sex on him but he eventually did.

He started making recordings of the abuse and, the court heard, the indecent images offences included both the films Wager made himself and the thousands of indecent images he downloaded from the internet.

Mr Howard said there were 2,725 still category A images and 250 category A moving images, showing boys and girls aged between six and eight being raped.

Also in Wager’s collection were 2,739 still category B images and 84 category B moving images, including a film of him sexually assaulting the boy.

There were 7,206 still category C images and four moving images included in the haul.

Wager was represented by Matthew Harding who said he was of previous good character.

Judge Colin Burn extended the prison licence period by a year.
