THE NUMBER of burglaries in Bradford East has decreased over the last 12 months, West Yorkshire Police says.

In a social media post, West Yorkshire Police - Bradford East said that the force has acted on the concerns of locals and has helped to reduce the number of residential burglaries in the area.

The post, which was published yesterday, says, "During the last 12 months we have been asking for your concerns and priorities in the Bradford East district.

"We have acted upon this information and can reveal that residential burglaries have significantly decreased in the district.

"Within the Bradford East area, there have been 69 less burglaries in the last 12 months in Little Horton, 10 less in Idle and Thackley, 14 less in Bolton and Undercliffe, 25 less in Bradford Moor, 20 less in Bowling and Barkerend and 37 less in Eccleshill.

"The most significant decrease in total crime in the Bradford East area was in the Eccleshill ward. There have been 449 fewer offences within the last 12 months. In the Idle and Thackley ward, there has been a decrease of 366 offences.
