A SPONSORED walk which was due to take place in Bingley this Sunday has been cancelled, with the UK on lockdown.

The annual Great Daffodil Walk was to raise funds for Marie Curie Hospice Bradford, and was to take place in Myrtle Park and the St. Ives Estate.

Dave Harvey, Chairman of Bradford Hospice Fundraising Group, said: "In line with a number of events planned in March, the Bradford Hospice Fundraising Group have cancelled the Great Daffodil Walk, which raises money for the Bradford Marie Curie Hospice, this year, due to the coronavirus outbreak. We hope to run the next one and will inform people in due time. Like many other charities, this will affect our planned income, however, Marie Curie will continue to provide care and support through terminal illness during these difficult times."
