ANOTHER set of plans have been submitted for a prominent Manningham building.

Plans to refurbish Express House on White Abbey Road were approved in 2018, granting permission for the empty building to be turned into a cafe and shop on the ground floor and beauty studio on the first floor.

Work has started, and earlier this year an application to alter the application was submitted. This amendment, to turn the beauty studio into a cafe/restaurant, was refused, with planning officers saying there was not enough detail of what the new business would look like.

Now a much more detailed application has been submitted, to turn the first floor into a dessert parlour.

The application, by M Arshad, says: "This proposal seeks to redevelop a vacant, existing warehouse building into an inclusive, dessert parlour, serving the needs of the local community.

"The changes proposed to the building will transform the currently derelict and dilapidated structure. This will bring usage and life within an area currently more associated as a red light district.

"The proposal would achieve a striking new addition to Bradfords iconic buildings and businesses. The design aims to transform a vacant, benign looking warehouse building through the creative addition of a series of architectural features."

A decision is expected in May.
