A NEW commercial building could soon be built on a vacant site next to one of Bradford’s busiest roads.
A planning application to build a 300 square metre building off Back Irwell Street has been submitted to Bradford Council.
The site, currently grassed over, is surrounded by housing on three sides and overlooks Wakefield Road. The plot of land is a short distance from the BP petrol filling station.
Plans for industrial building next to landmark church approved
The planning application has been submitted by Abrah Ali Rehman and says the plans are for a “proposed commercial unit for commercial activities.”
It says the development could create four full time and six part time jobs. It would operate from 7am to 5pm on Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
A decision on the planning application is expected in May.
In late 2018 a planning application to build a large industrial unit on another plot of land off Wakefield Road, next to St John’s Church, was approved by Bradford Council.
